Review: Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure
Two weeks ago, Influenster sent me this VoxBox to review. The VoxBox held two sets of Braodway ImPress Manicures in 110 Joyride and 130 Control Freak.
As I was heading to Toronto for Bolu's belated 21st Birthday weekend, I figured it was the best time to try it out. I chose the 110 Joyride (pictured right).
I don't know if anyone else has played with press-on nails in the past but it was one of my most coveted nail accessories when I was a kid. My parents were super strict about beauty products and thus, I was only able to have press-on nails when I was at a playmate's house. Fast-forward roughly 10 years later, the adult version of press-on nails is just as fun.
The instructions are really simple. First, find the closest match for every finger nail and lay them out. Next, clean each nail with the provided prep pad. Then, peel off the sticky tab, carefully press on the nail, hold firmly for a few seconds et voilà!
On to the next hand!
Ta-da! The obligatory creepy photo of the finished manicure.
The Broadway ImPress Manicure is definitely not your children's press-on nails. The colours are vibrant and they stay on well (as long as you're not doing strenuous hand tasks). My left hand nails stayed on for the entire week while two nails on the right fell in the middle of the week. I think it fell off because I was vigorously writing notes for my Psychology midterm and had put too much pressure on those fingers. It was not a big deal though, as I just found two close enough matches and stuck those on.
While I was in Toronto, I received tons of compliments on my nails and nail colour from friends and random strangers. It was astonishing how no one could tell they were fake, let alone press-ons!
My only con is that like usual press-on nails, I'm pretty aware on the fake feeling (of something sticking on me?) but I suppose that is kind of unavoidable.
Recommend? Yes :)
Till next time~
