Holiday Events Round-up
Nancy: I'm spending Christmas this year with my family in Vancouver, but for those of you guys staying in Ottawa (or visiting), here's a list of fun events leading up to the Holidays!
- Dec. 17: Pop-up Vintage Sale and Party
2, 31 York Street
If you're still looking for that special gift for a special somebody, it might be worth it to check out this Pop-up vintage sale hosted by CVG and Allegro Retro. There will be refreshments, prizes, and treasures for both men and women.
- Dec. 18: Syrian Refugee Fundraiser at FlapJack's
354A Preston Street
12 awesome Ottawans are sponsoring a family of 6 from Syria. Cover is $8 and half of the proceeds will go directly to the family in need. Live music and a good cause, what better way is there to spend a Friday evening?
- Dec. 19: Bizarre Bazaar
27 York Street
Okay, I'm only slightly judging you if you're still not done your Christmas shopping. But hey, why not check out the pop-up Bizarre Bazaar in the Byward market for some wacky gifts? We hear that items for sale include taxidermy and sexy-time products. Note that ID (19+) will be checked (children under 14 must have adult accompaniment).
- Every December weekend: Christmas in the Byward Market
55 Byward Market Square
Free wagon rides, complimentary hot apple cider, and the live entertainment acts that the Byward market is known for. We might have no snow, but we definitely have Christmas Spirit in spades!
- Dec. 24: #LightUpTheMarket Christmas Window Decorating Contest
1PM 55 Byward Market Square
Local stores in the Byward Market will be decorating their windows. Head down to get some inspiration, and take some pictures of your favourite windows and share them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Make sure to use the hashtag #LightUpTheMarket for a chance to win a prize!
There's something for everyone happening around town in the next couple of days and we hope you all have a fantastic time enjoying the Holidays!
Till next time,
