Minimal Reflections

And we're back! My first outfit post of 2016 wearing what is most likely going to be my favourite clothing piece of the year. This gorgeous light grey wool coat from Zara (btw have you heard? it's pronounced "dzah-dah").

I mean... just look at it. I feel like Olivia Pope, and I am in love.

Apart from many more fashion trends to come, 2016 brings with it the promise of those hopeful new year resolutions. Being 22, I reckon I've had at least 10 years of making resolutions that promptly get broken by the second week of January. As we are now in the 1st week of February, if you are one of those people that have managed to stick to yours, congratulations you are awesome!

However, this year I've been inspired to try something slightly different. The location of this shoot is at the gorgeous National Gallery of Canada, fun fact: we shot here previously when we first started this blog.

The NGC is seriously godsend in terms of indoor locations. It doesn't get much better than the high ceilings, airy space, and large windows that let in lots of light and contribute to the industrial modern atmosphere. I already can't wait to go back and take more photos. Anyway I digress...

Returning to the NGC is made better when I think about the last time I was in the same place essentially doing the same thing. This inspired me to go back a few pages to revisit that post (I generally tend to never do this out of fear of mortification). And boy, have we grown as bloggers. The changes are made more obvious when revisiting the exact same place years later.

Looking at those photos makes me super happy and inspired because I remember taking the plunge and deciding to start a blog that summer. Am I mortified? Only slightly. The editing... what were we thinking?! But the ability to see growth is super fulfilling.

So as great as new years resolutions are, I think it's equally as great to take a glance at the past when looking towards the future. Give yourself some credit and acknowledge how far you've come.

Here's to another awesome year!

Till next time,

~ Bolu
