Bolu: The Moscow Tea Room is a cozy restaurant located on Sussex Drive. Part entertainment lounge, part bar, part amazing interior (check out the gorgeous chandeliers custom-made in Paris), this lounge is the perfect place to grab a drink or a quick meal after work with some colleagues, friends, or significant other. Nancy and I along with our friend Kathleen, had our first meal there recently and it did not disappoint.
Bolu: The menu consists of various sandwiches, salads, and seafood options with quirky names that send a cheeky nod to Russia. I decided to order the Chicken "Kiev" sandwich which consists of chicken, kale, aged cheddar, topped with Russian dressing on bread. As a huge fan of kale and chicken, this sandwich hit the spot.
Nancy: I've had drinks at the Moscow Tea Room a few times before, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We arrived just in time for happy hour and pinot grigio by the glass was on special. Yes please! Going over the menu, I was intrigued by the Vladimir's poutine, which puts a spin on potato and cheese perogies by topping it with beets, goat cheese crumble, and spicy vodka sauce. Recommended by the waitress, it certainly did not disappoint.
Bolu: I would definitely recommend anyone in Ottawa looking for a great spot to eat and/or drink check out The Moscow Tea Room. Apart from the food, they play great music which along with the amazingly designed interior creates the perfect ambience.
Till next time,
~ Nancy & Bolu
